Been a while since I wrote here last time. I guess I have been busy playing and enjoying game.
During that period FML has developed a lot. We have stadiums, we have fans, we have season awards, etc. Due to this lot has changed and all points from my last post might not be so effective now.
This time I haven't planned to write about how to become the best in FML, rather will concentrate on my plans for future. Of course i will point out few things that might be clever :).
Lets start with stadiums. Great add fro the game. First of all it stopped inflation which is great. Making money in FML in the start is quite difficult if you want to build your stadium. If you don't, your team financially will peak sooner. So I'm definitely planning to build a big first class stadium as my point in FML isn't just to play some games. I want to dominate my GW, often I succeed also. Cocky ain't I :). What I'm thinking that 3-tier stands are minimum target. Haven't done the math on it but I have a strong feeling that it is the way to go. 75k-90k stadium should be the target for every team that wants to play the top game I believe.
Due to building stadium and learning infrastructure skills, learning some other skills have to suffer of course. But you do have to learn them as building stadiums is expensive and raising money is tough as your income depends on size of your stadium. Yeh, you need fans to fill stadiums, but that is the other story. Haven't quite figured out yet, how I will compose in the start, but I defo want talented youths in my team also. As I really enjoy how these guys develop. But wanting also seniors means that I really have to be careful with my wages. Wages are key point in current FML, they were important before and I always managed to handle them well(keep 'em low).
Ideally I think no more than 50k per whole team, this will be a really hard task. But I think its really vital. We will see.
Now, from somewhere October I think Double Your Money comps took over GWs, Its hard to find comps where winner gets reasonable amount more than others. In start it was weird for me, but I got used to them. If I joined them I tend to get my share of money and I was happy. But usually when I enter money comps my team is good and I'm confident. What means I'm usually in top10. So from December I started seeing DYM comps where no top10 or top100 etc were allowed. OK, I get the point, but it annoys me that some dudes just out of top10 create those comps. I have one thing to say to you - you have no balls and you suck! Same goes to topteams who create comps what are described or named as comps for lower teams and then last team to join is that topteam. If you provide those comps and say to others that its my product I can do what I want, well that's just lame. Feel free to provide them, but don't join them. Have some decency.
Now on bit lighter note. Like some know or doesn't FML has a so called corner exploit. We wont get rid of it till FM09 engine isn't installed into FML. So I will explain some basics about it. Best way to score goals from corners goes like this - Best jumper has to challenge GK(jumping 17+), rest you can assign how ever you want, also your corners should be provided to 6 yard box. You should have a corner taker who has corners attribute 17+ also. How to make this thing to work even better goes like this - your best jumper should be one of the shortest player in your team.
As you know or don't yet, currently defending corners is a hard work. You can set your best jumper to mark opponents tall player, but you cant mark best jumper. So this where the exploit lies. Usually you expect that opponents best jumper is a tall player, but what if he isn't what if he is someone like Micah R. Who is short, then your only option is to be online and mark him specifically in game by your best jumper. Bottom line when online, watch out for those guys who challenge your GK during corners.
Ayee, for final part of this post I think I will talk a bit about my tactical choices. I have to admit that 442 diamond is my favourite but its also a very complicated tac and it needs right players and too many skills to learn in the start, so I'm going for 451 in the start. I feel its the best one to start. 460 is a great tactic also, but I feel it needs bit more tactic skills to learn than 451. Have seen some guys try to create 460 with very avg result. Which is normal, its no miracle tactic. It can be a top tactic, but you need right players for it.
And for all newbies, choose 3 MC tactics in the start, they are the easiest ;).
Anyway, enjoy the game, whine less, be reasonable with mods, they are just doing their best to keep GWs in order from their free time.
